The UT Health Science Center-School of Public Health Brownsville Regional Campus is participating in the Texas Healthcare Transformation Medicaid 1115 Waiver program with plans to implement and monitor healthcare transformation in Region Health Plan 5 with the goals to improve access to care for the citizens of our region and to continuously provide the best in evidence-based healthcare.
Department: School of Public Health- Brownsville Regional Campus
Location: One West University Blvd.
Performs and coordinates graphic design functions for projects such as brochures, reports, magazines, posters, invitations, newspapers, newsletters, logos and online and printed material for multiple outreach programs. May assist media team with conducting participant interviews, managing social media posts and taking photos at events.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Utilizes desk top publishing to generate layouts and designs for the majority of projects.
Identifies the needs and preferences of clients and consistently produces the desired products.
Monitors and prioritizes multiple projects.
Puts together visual materials and mock-ups for presentation to customer or committee.
Ensures that artwork and boards are approved by customer before delivered to printer.
Ensures that artwork meets the printer’s requirements as camera ready art.
Takes on assignments from concept to completion and maintain honest and effective communication with customer throughout all processes of the project.
Assists with updating program website and online calendars.
Communicates with print and other media regarding orders for aired and print ads.
Ensures that end product(s) meet, if not exceed, customer expectations and are at a literacy level and language appropriate for the customers.
Reviews exceptions requested by customer with supervisor in order to maintain product and or services within guidelines.
Provides work direction and guidance to personnel within department. May lead projects and activities.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Computer Graphics Training
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or experience in lieu of education.
Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in graphic design production such as art direction, production, and printing supervision.
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
