Position Summary:
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner position is responsible for providing strategic consultation and support to UT Physicians and their system of clinics around the Houston area. The role serves as a consultant to management on human resources- related issues, and as an employee champion and change agent. The Senior Business Partner assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicating proactively with our HR department and business management to develop integrated solutions. The Sr. HRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR Center of Excellence to develop solutions, programs, and policies. Drives for results and success, conveys a sense of urgency and brings issues to closure; persists despite obstacles and opposition.
This is a full time position that is classified as salaried and exempt. The employee will be asked to work a hybrid schedule of remote and on-site office times. It will require visiting clinics in person at times to help facilitate HR processes and offer support. Candidates who have worked in healthcare or with State agencies are preferred, but these are not required. You must be service-oriented, eager to learn, and able to forge excellent relationships. This position is eligible for all UTHealth benefits including healthcare coverage and participation in a pension plan run by the State of Texas.

Position Key Accountabilities:
Design and develop strategic plans using business knowledge; execute strategies and methods in alignment with enterprise goals and HR policies and practices.
Act as a coach and mentor to leaders and offer creative solutions to complex issues using multi-disciplined approach
Ensures human resources responsibilities are a key part of long term strategic planning in the organization, to include providing guidance and input on business unit restructures, emerging employee skills requirements, workforce planning and succession planning.
Serves as a lead and mentor to HR Business Partners, HR Generalists and HR Assistants.
Acts as change catalyst and leader. Identifies organizational issues that limit effectiveness and collaborates within HR to develop and deliver practical solutions. Seeks out opportunities to support the organization toward continuing to evolve a high performance culture. Partners with leadership to move the organization effectively through significant change such as growth, restructuring and process improvement.
In collaboration with HR functional service lines, develops and promotes programs to encourage and retain a productive workforce.
Schedules and maintains regular clinic site visits to build relationships with site leaders, engage in active conversations with staff and participate in clinic and departmental community based activities as necessary.
May manage Human Resources activities of the department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
PHR or SPHR highly preferred. Effective judgement, tact, diplomacy and discretion required in all matters. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality. Possesses knowledge and understanding of State and Federal guidelines and law within the functional areas. Must have knowledge of employment law and utilizes that knowledge in their daily function.

Team player with proven ability to work under pressure.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications or related field.
Minimum Experience:
Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources; experience in at least one HR specialty function such as Employee Relations, Learning & Development, Recruitment, etc. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships to drive change at all levels of leadership from first line supervisors to executives as well as employees is necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
