POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans,

coordinates, and directs administrative/support services for the UTHealth

School of Public Health San Antonio Campus Student Affairs Office

Location: San Antonio Regional Campus

Position Type: Full Time/ Non-Exempt

POSITIONKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Makes complex decisions concerning studentdevelopment of their degree planners, selecting courses in accordance withdegree planner and academic requirements, as well as assistance with SPH website navigation, requiring a comprehensive and extensive knowledge of a widerange of regulations, policies, and curriculum for UTHealth School of PublicHealth – Houston, as staff advisor.

  • Reviews expenditures for graduation and enrollmentactivities and maintains related databases to verify the accuracy of and ensurecompliance to budgetary limitations and staying within compliance of fundingguidelines, along with coordination and attendance of new student orientations.

  • Prepares, coordinates, and reports on applicationsfor faculty review and admissions meetings.

  • Prepares, coordinates, and attends recruiting eventsand ensures that the appropriate registration, fees, correspondence, andmaterial is supplied for distribution.

  • Prepares the course schedule (spring, summer, andfall) for the San Antonio Regional Campus.

  • Regularlyhandles confidential information and sensitive issues.

  • Willtrain and supervisor entry-level graduate assistant.

  • Willserve as liaison with others within and outside the School of Public Healthregarding new programs.

  • Otherduties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.

  • Ability to make general decisions requiring a comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of regulations, policies, procedures and practices. Generally requires use of initiative and independent judgment.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with three (3) years of related experience in the areas of student admissions and enrollment and/or student advising; or

  • Master’s degree in related field with one (1) year of related experience in the areas of student admissions and enrollment and/or student advising.

Minimum Experience:

  • Years of experience varies based on education level.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive:

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
