UTHealth - UT Physicians Multispecialty Sienna Clinic (Missouri City, Texas - 8810 Highway 6) is hiring a Senior Patient Access Representative to join their team of professionals. Ideal candidate will have previous experience with referral coordination, prior authorizations, scheduling an serving as a patient liasion.

Position: Full-Time / Hourly / Non Exempt / Biweekly Pay

Position Summary:

Works to achieve team and departmental goals by performing a variety of duties and procedures to follow-up and resolve outstanding accounts receivable balances on complex accounts by securing payment and/or applying the appropriate adjustments. In addition, responsible for analyzing accounts to identify trends as well as errors including incorrect adjustments, issuing corrected entries when necessary.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Reviews incoming correspondence and takes appropriate action. Responds promptly to inquiries.

  2. Analyzes accounts for errors, adjustments and credits, issuing corrected entries when necessary. Updates account information accordingly.

  3. Documents communications accurately and completely.

  4. Obtains financial information from patients; analyzes information to determine appropriateness of action.

  5. Mentors and serves as a resource for less experienced staff.

  6. Prepares written responses for administrative complaints and problem accounts.

  7. Contacts third party payers to effect payment on patient accounts.

  8. Assists in the development of policies and procedures.

  9. May perform other duties as assigned.


Knowledge of business office, patient billing, or collection/ reimbursement procedures in a healthcare setting; proficient in MS Office with emphasis in Excel, 10-key and math.

Minimum Education:

High school graduation or equivalent required.

Graduate from a vocational business school with a minor in a job related field preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Three to five years hospital/ medical collections experience with understanding of third party reimbursement procedures, as well as state and federal regulations governing healthcare.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
