The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a can-do, innovative and forward-thinking mindset; highly adaptable to new knowledge/skills in a fast-paced environment; meticulous attention to detail. Knowledge and understanding of insurance benefit plans, claims processing, Explanation of Benefits (EOB). Experienced in general Revenue Cycle processes; Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and software applications, i.e. Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Strong critical thinking and conflict resolution skills; ability to work independently without close supervision. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Establishes and maintains billing files, including initial review of billing and collection instructions to ensure compliance with contract requirements and timely processing of invoices.
Processes monthly and quarterly billing, including reconciliation of automated billing invoices to revenue and unbilled AR entries. Prepares detailed supporting documentation as required.
Researches, analyzes, and resolves billing discrepancies between external customers. Acts as a liaison between external customer and UTHealth departments.
Develops monthly metric reporting of all assigned accounts and provides data on collection status, and presents results as required.
Conducts audits of assigned projects with internal, UT System, State and/or Federal billing and receivable auditors.
Prepares recommendations of doubtful or write-off accounts for recording monthly delinquent receivables.
Prepares adjustment journal entries as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or finance; or relevant experience in lieu of education.
Two (2) years of related experience.
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
