Position Summary:

UTHealth Neurosciences (UTHN) is a dynamic team that seeks to provide an enriching environment based on values of compassion for our patients and each other as well as continually striving for excellence. UTHN is looking for a seasoned leader who is experienced with promoting a patient-centered approach to ambulatory care. This role will be jointly responsible with the Market Practice Manager(s) and Assistant Practice Manager(s) for actively managing all administrative and operational functions associated with assigned practices within their respective region or scope. This includes ensuring smooth and efficient clinic operations, as well as supervising clinic personnel and schedules, patient relations, time-of-service collections/cash reconciliation, budget/inventory control, and patient throughput. In addition, this position will provide support for all personnel related tasks comprised of recruitment, on-boarding, and holding team members accountable to cultural/performance expectations.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Contributes to the planning and implementation of the operational, financial and administrative activities of multiple UTHN Clinics. Assists with the development and maintenance of administrative infrastructure to ensure efficient and financially sound operations and manages the day-to-day administrative operations (staffing, metrics, etc).

  • Assists with the development, evaluation, preparation and monitoring of the budget including expense management, supply inventory, revenue cycle metrics, capital equipment and various financial structures. Prepares and reviews various reports/system dashboards to ensure optimal performance.

  • Oversees patient care operations and monitors areas such as patient flow/throughput, scheduling and customer service metrics. Administers the continual development, implementation, and evaluation of continuous quality improvement initiatives.

  • Ensures compliance with institutional, divisional and departmental base policies and procedures as well as external regulatory requirements.

  • Partners to manage facility and physical asset planning and maintenance including facility design and inventory management.

  • Models and promotes a collaborative, results-oriented, and patient-centered environment. Develops performance standards and staffing plans that align with departmental expectations.

  • Manages Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection; hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning. Models UTHN Creed and cultural expectations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) required.

  • BLS preferred.

  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of education required.

  • MSN/ MBA/ MHA preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Six years of experience in the healthcare operations environment with leadership experience/direct people management preferred. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
