McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center, invites applications for part-time (0.80- 0.50 FTE), Clinical Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science. The selected candidates will contribute to the department’s mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through research, teaching, clinical service, administrative activities, and other service.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The Rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Science will provide direct patient care and supervision of medical students and residents in clinic and hospital settings, etc. In addition, you will provide feedback regarding office operations including hiring staff, office logistics and new physician recruitment.

Qualifications:

The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Required or preferred board certification/eligibility statement. Required or preferred minimum years of clinical experience or years post residency statement.

Qualified applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence, discovery and service, have potential to be outstanding in their field of expertise, and share an interest in fulfilling the common goals of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. Preferred applicants will possess state preferred credentials and demonstrate skills such as, excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong potential for a leadership role within the department.
