The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), Assistant Professor joint position in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at the McGovern Medical School and in the UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics.

The selected candidate will contribute to the UTHealth’s mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care through: clinical service, quality improvement, education, and research.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The position involves outpatient and inpatient clinical care, quality improvement, teaching, and clinical and research efforts. A major focus of this position will be facilitating collaboration between the UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics and Department of Medicine/Division of Rheumatology at the McGovern Medical.

The candidate will also improve quality of care in the Department of Medicine/Division of Rheumatology with a special focus on application of process improvement methodology as an informatician and clinician.

Qualifications:

Candidate should have an M.D. or equivalent degree, completed approved Rheumatology and Clinical Informatics Fellowship Programs, be eligible for licensure in the state of Texas and be board certified or board eligible for ABIM Rheumatology and ABPM Clinical Informatics Certifications. Formal training in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety is required.
