The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) invites applications to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level at the Austin Regional Campus. The position is available in the Epidemiology, Human Genetics and Environmental Sciences department at UTHealth School of Public Health.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Responsibilities will include conducting externally funded research, teaching graduate-level courses within the epidemiology core curriculum, directing graduate student research, and developing collaborations across campuses, departments, communities, and academic institutions.

Qualifications:

  • An earned doctoral degree in epidemiology or related disciplines in research design and quantitative methods

  • Graduate level teaching and research emphasis experience in behavioral or clinical epidemiology related to physical activity

  • A track record of research publications commensurate with academic rank and demonstrating potential for securing external funding

  • Experience with conducting research in community settings

Ideal candidates will have a broad understanding of physiology of exercise, physical activity epidemiology and related methodologies, including assessment techniques, study designs, data reduction and management, and analytic approaches.
