Provides professional level skills in the teaching, counseling, training, and research aspects of health education programs in the community and for the institution. Provides supervision and oversight to those who provide health, wellness, and/or prevention programs.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Oversees and approves the content, implementation, and evaluation of all health education, cooking demonstrations and wellness programs delivered in Community Health and Wellness Centers (CHWCs).
Contacts, or may be contacted by, various community agencies and participants for the planning and development of specialized educational programs.
Coordinates, promotes, and provides administrative assistance to multi-disciplinary programs which combine institutional interests/developments with community needs.
Conducts regular audits of documentation in electronic health record including registration, flowsheet, referrals, and curricula.
Serves as main contact for institution wide programs and organizations such as Texas Medical Foundation (TMF), Houston Food Bank, School of Public Health (SPH) Dietetic Internship, Texas Agrilife Extension Service and Harris County Master Gardeners, and ensures that all classes are delivered with 100% fidelity.
Provides educational training and research functions pertaining to various aspects of health education programs.
Collaborates with Electronic Health Records (HER) staff to create and maintain dashboards, Allscripts notes, and data analysis plans to measure cumulative impact of health education.
Manages Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Four (4) years of experience working with community agencies and in health related institutions.
One (1) year of supervisory or teaching experience preferred.
Position Type: Salaried / Full-Time / Exempt
Pay Range: $56,200 - 70,200/year based one years of paid experience
Location: Binz Plaza Medical Center @ 1200 Binz Street
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
