Position Summary:

Works on the Community Engagement team of the Harris County SARS-CoV-2 Prevalence project. Coordinates the planning, implementation and administration of community relations for the project. Impacts institution’s community reputation.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Works with the Community Engagement team leadership in the development of a comprehensive community engagement plan.

  2. Oversees the operations and evaluation of a community relations program.

  3. Develops program goals and analyzes program activities.

  4. Actively cultivates and maintains relationships and represents the project with community stakeholders and others in the community.

  5. Identifies and facilitates opportunities to develop collaborative relationships and partnerships.

  6. Engages with community influencers, both at the individual and organizational level.

  7. Identifies trends, reviews data and implements program improvements.

  8. Facilitates increased SARS-CoV-2 testing in target communities across Harris County through the development and maintenance of strong community collaborations.

  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Excellent written communication and presentation skills.

Detail-orientated with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Minimum Education:

Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Health Education or related degree.

Minimum Experience:

Three (3) years of experience in community relations, health education and/or community outreach activities.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
