We are looking for an EPIC Clinical Systems & Application Administrator who will work with ambulatory and opthalmology clinics in our UT Physicians locations. This employee provides support for the EpicCare Ambulatory system. Supports all users of the EMR solution, providing timely design, implementation, upgrades, enhancement support, ongoing maintenance, and the stable and dependable systems foundation for enhanced user productivity. There will be some tasks involving figuring out to integrate medical devices with Epic. The equipment are products of companies like Fuji, and can do an array of things related to clinical operations such as medical imaging.
This is a full time role that will report to a physical location in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. Some support may be offered remotely, but certainly some instances will require hands-on in-person attention. The job is classified as exempt. You will be eligible for all UTHealth benefits including healthcare coverage and participation in a State of Texas pension plan.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Monitors, maintains and provides system support for the Enterprise Clinical Application systems and integrated systems providing business and functional analysis and communication between healthcare providers/departments and IT resources.
Coordinates system upgrades, new releases or changes to relevant application(s), generating and updating appropriate documentation per policy and procedure, including requirements, specifications, change control, training, test plans, and end user documentation.
Develops detailed specifications and documentation for software changes to vendor or for internally implemented modifications, providing communication of all changes to leadership and the user community.
Maintains the standard Provider Matrix and provider setup process.
Evaluates and recommends new healthcare technology to support patients and healthcare professional needs.
Provides proactive resolution of issues, responding to customer requests and changes while on site working with healthcare providers in the milieu.
Handles requests to update SER and EAF; assists with the Data courier tool.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills. High level of patience, empathy and courtesy. Advanced knowledge of MS Office products. Advanced computing, analytical and organizational skills
Must have a strong knowledge of the Epic SER settings, master tables and functionality.
Epic certification required – Current or within prior release version; or must be obtained within 3 months of hire date.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; or relevant experience in lieu of education.
Five (5) years of experience in clinical applications support, preferably Epic as well as experience in clinical setting either inpatient or outpatient.
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
