The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston (UTSD) is accepting nominations and applications for the full-time faculty, tenure-track position of Director of the Dental Hygiene Program within the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene. The position will be available January 1, 2021.
Position Key Accountabilities:
The School of Dentistry’s Dental Hygiene Program seeks exceptional candidates whose experience, teaching, research and service have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to excellence in dental education.
The Director serves as an integral part of the School of Dentistry’s administrative team, providing innovative leadership and advocacy, distance education, and interdisciplinary learning in the integrated dental/dental hygiene curricula.
Applicants must hold a master’s degree in dental hygiene, education, or related field. A doctoral level degree is preferred. Applicants must have a demonstrated record of teaching, academic leadership, successful research or active involvement in dental hygiene, with credentials meriting appointment to the rank of associate or full professor tenure track. Applicants will have an opportunity for intramural practice. Prior clinical teaching and/or private practice experience and eligibility for licensure or faculty licensure in Texas are required.
