Position Summary:

UTHealth is looking for a Human Resources Reporting Analyst to support our office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity. This employee will primarily be responsible for analytics and reporting activities. They will design, create, maintain and routinely produce standard and ad hoc reports, dashboards and scorecards, and develop workforce models to provide guidance on workforce planning activities. You will be immersed in data, and tasked with helping us make sense of large volumes of statistics and system records. Often these reports are manually produced in Excel, so expert users of this program are asked to apply. You must understand how to effectively merge large data sets, create pivot tables, and execute Excel functions such as vlookup at a minimum. If you have worked with Tableau or Smartsheet that is a bonus. A knowledge of human resources is preferred, but not required. Communication skills are critical as you will work alongside our Human Resources Technology group and deliver information to UTHealth leadership. You will need to be detail-oriented, precise, quick, and able to manage projects effectively.

This is a full time role that is eligible for all UTHealth benefits including coverage under our healthcare program and participation in a pension plan administered by the State of Texas. You will work a hybrid schedule of being inside the office and at home. A typical week should only include a day or two in the office once you are up and running. Training period may require more time at our University Center Tower, 7000 Fannin, Houston, TX, and there will be periods of time when you will be expected to be onsite for projects or during peak reporting times.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Gathers data and prepares all reporting, scorecards/dashboards, and analyses on key metrics using MS Office software, HRMS database, and other HR-related databases.

  2. Completes statistical, trend, capacity and sensitivity analyses to provide insight into talent gaps.

  3. Conducts predictive modeling and data mining/factor analysis based on reported data.

  4. Responsible for ensuring accuracy, data integrity and integration, including data from complementary functions within the University.

  5. Seeks opportunities for synergy, improvement, simplification, and automation of existing reports and analysis.

  6. Collaborates with leadership, and other functional teams, to model current/future resource scenarios.

  7. Assists leadership in providing recommendations and messaging to stakeholders.

  8. Responds to ad hoc information requests.

  9. Assists with technology implementations and data maintenance, report data integrity, administration, and validation issues.

  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Proven ability to develop reports and dashboards, and to interpret data using statistical analysis.

Advanced MS Excel modeling and data manipulation skills.

Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail skills.

Compelling oral and written communication skills.

Minimum Education:

Bachelors degree in related discipline; directly related experience in lieu of education may be considered; Masters degree preferred but not required

Minimum Experience:

Three (3) years of relevant experience in retrieving, analyzing, and reporting information.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
