Position Summary:

Maintains a complex inventory system at the UTHealth Harris County Psychiatric Center.

Location: Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center/HCPC at UTHealth

Dept.: HCPC Building Services

Status: Full-Time

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Coordinates and participates in the annual physical inventory.

  2. Manages surplus and storage areas of the inventory section

  3. Solves routine problems concerning the location of property in storage and inventory discrepancies.

  4. Prepares inventory data for entry into the computer.

  5. Reviews and date-stamps purchase orders.

  6. Receives and issues property items.

  7. Assigns property numbers to the equipment.

  8. Affixes inventory tags to new equipment and sensitive items

  9. Disposes of obsolete items.

  10. Adheres to regulatory requirements regarding materials used in a hospital setting.

  11. May perform other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

A valid driver’s license is required and must possess a safe driving record in adherence with UTHealth policy.

Minimum Education:

High school degree or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

Two years related experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
