Position Type: Full Time/ Exempt

Position Summary:

Responsible for all marketing and creative services for a school or unit. Collaborates with leadership and colleagues across the school/unit to develop marketing campaigns and communications strategies for internal and external audiences that translate branding and recruitment objectives into measurable outcomes.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Participates in the development and implementation of effective creative strategies that position the school/unit as a leader in education and research; informs and engages internal and external audiences through a broad range of web, print, and digital branded and/or visual designed marketing / communications collateral.

  • Recognizes and implements Key Performance Indicators to maximize ROI for all marketing initiatives. Tracks and measures marketing initiatives in order to monitor their effectiveness and reports outcomes to senior management.

  • Drafts strategic communications pieces on behalf of the Dean’s Office for both internal and external audiences, and coordinates with school leadership to ensure timely dissemination.

  • Oversees a team of staff responsible for social media marketing and management/editorial pipeline, and development/maintenance of school websites.

  • Conducts annual market research and updates the schools competitor files.

  • Manages the strategy and purchasing of advertising buys and integrates these programs with existing platforms and brand assets to connect with key stakeholders and drive student applications and enrollments.

  • Provides expertise in lead generation strategy and tactics and use of tactics to create preference and drive conversions on the path to enrollment.

  • Supports the writing, design and coordination of the production of digital communication and marketing materials.

  • Collaborates with Office of Public Affairs to ensure work created is aligned with university standards and existing campaigns.

  • Maintains financial accountability over marketing operational budget, monitoring expenses and taking measures to optimize spending.

  • Manages Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection; hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Strong critical thinking skills; strong relationship building skills, networking, and customer service skills.

  • Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience with publishing on SBMI website, social media and other digital formats

  • Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, paid social media marketing, SEO


  • Strong writing skills (samples preferred)

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Marketing, Multimedia or related field

Minimum Experience:

  • Five (5) years of directly related experience. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
