We are hiring immediately for a Medical Sonographer II to join the UTHealth McGovern Medical School, Department of Neurology in Houston, Texas 77030. Ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Medical Sonographer, in a fast paced environment. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred. Experience with Epic and Care4/Cerner is a plus.
RVT and TCD (Transcranial Doppler) experience, highly preferred. Position is supporting Department of Neurology.

Operates ultrasound equipment and performs a variety of technical procedures to produce images for patient diagnosis.
This position is supporting the Department of Neurology.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Operates ultrasound equipment and records results. Adjusts parameters on equipment, and reviews calibrations to assure that scans are reproducible under similar conditions.
Assists with research activities.
Performs basic maintenance on equipment to assure proper working conditions.
Assists with research activities by collecting data and participating in research projects.
Demonstrates the use of ultrasound equipment and techniques to assist with the education of students, nurses, residents, patients, and physicians.
Attend continuing education seminars to stay abreast of technological advances in ultrasound and antenatal testing.
Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) by CCI, highly preferred.
Experience with TCD (Transcranial Doppler), highly preferred.
Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or its equivalent.
Associate Degree preferred.
- Two years experience in diagnostic ultrasound.
Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
