Exciting Fetal Surgery Position: The Ob/Gyn Fetal Center is looking for a talented MFM Sonographer who is ready to take their career to the next level. Come and join the Fetal Surgery team at the UTHealth Houston's Fetal Center . Sonographers at the Fetal Center help diagnose a wide variety of fetal anomalies that involve every organ system including cardiac anomalies. Sonographers at the Fetal Center also actively participate in state-of-the-art fetal surgeries by providing direct ultrasound guidance and fetal heart monitoring in the operating room. Position Location:

UTHealth Houston Fetal Center

University Professional Building @ 6410 Fannin Street, Houston, TX 77030

Schedule: Full Time, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Assists in the operation of ultrasound equipment and records results. Adjusts parameters on equipment, and reviews calibrations to assure that scans are reproducible under similar conditions.

  • Assists with research activities.

  • Performs basic maintenance on equipment to assure proper working conditions.

  • May participate in diagnosis process to access maternal and fetal well-being.

  • Assists with research activities by collecting data and participating in research projects.

  • Demonstrates the use of ultrasound equipment and techniques to assist with the education of students, nurses, residents, patients, and physicians.

  • Attend continuing education seminars to stay abreast of technological advances in ultrasound and antenatal testing.

  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or become registered within one year of employment.

Minimum Education:

Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or its equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

None.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
