We are hiring immediately for a Programmer Analyst II/III to join the UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics in Houston, TX 77030. In this position, you will work with the Data Science & Artificial intelligence team, developing and maintaining high-quality web applications using ReactJS. Ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, have proven experience in frontend development, with a strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ReactJS. This individual will also collaborate and work with the backend team to design and implement API’s.

Position Summary:

Provides technical skills required to translate system analysis type definitions to reports, charts, and diagrams, from which programmers can efficiently perform their tasks. Responsible for grasping overall concepts and objectives of the entire system study and programming projects.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality web applications using ReactJS and other front-end technologies.

  • Learn and adapt quickly to new technologies such as Next.js to ensure our applications remain innovative and efficient.

  • Collaborate with our backend team to design and implement APIs.

  • Ensure all developed applications are optimized for performance and usability.

  • Maintain code integrity, organization, and version control.

  • Test, troubleshoot, and optimize application components for maximum speed, security, and scalability.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

  • Two years of programming experience.

Certification/Skills:

  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and programming.

  • Proven experience in frontend development, with a strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ReactJS.

  • Experience with data structure libraries and RESTful APIs.

  • Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token.

  • Strong understanding of front-end build pipelines and tools.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
