Under close direction of senior research staff, conducts activities to support research projects.
Position Key Accountabilities:
The assistant will work primarily to assist in carrying out experiments including ELISA, PCR, cell culture, coagulation tests, and rodent model experiments. In the lab, there is room for growth and we expect the assistant to learn techniques and become independent in performing these procedures and experiments. As the assistant gains knowledge and experience, he/she will be responsible for lab maintenance, and grant submission.
We are seeking a post-baccalaureate applicant with basic lab experience to work in a basic and translational science lab focusing on research on the blood brain barrier and coagulation after brain hemorrhage.
The researcher will perform experiments and support the daily lab activities.
Prefer experience inELISA, PCR, cell culture, coagulation tests, and rodent model experiments.
Basic lab experience
Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.
2 years of experience.
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
