Position Summary:

Under general direction of senior research staff, conducts activities to support research projects. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Conducts research activities, under generaldirection of principal investigator, sub-investigators and study coordinatoraccording to research.

  2. Contact prospective patients via phoneand complete pre-screenings. Inform prospective patients of study protocol andanswer any questions. Set up screening appointments.

  3. Establish and maintain a beneficialconnection with current and prospective patients through phone calls and studyvisits. Answer questions about study protocol.

  4. Coordinate study visits and makeappointment reminder phone calls. Prepare folders and equipment for studyvisits

  5. Performing routine ECG at screening andall necessary follow-up visits

  6. Maintains accurate and timely records toinclude database management, notebooks, records, etc. as needed by the researchproject.

  7. Collect blood specimen samples andprepare for transport to sponsor sites

  8. Provide support for research studiesinvolving human subjects; develop forms, questionnaires and procedures forsubject collection. To include meeting with subjects at various sites; obtaininformed consent, administer survey, coordinate blood draw, measure height,weight, and blood pressure as needed.

  9. Work directly with physicians tocoordinate appointments and complete necessary assessments.

  10. Collectmedical information from participants both history and physical measurements tobe sent to sponsor-sites via fax or through online databases.

  11. Enter data into sponsor-created databases.Assist in addressing and correcting queries.

  12. Staysabreast of new and updated protocols for research department.

  13. Complieswith all governmental and University policies, rules, regulation and codes.

  14. Asneeded, coordinates the work of laboratory technicians, support staff and otherassistants to ensure efficient, timely and high quality results.Answers questions or resolves problemsregarding routine or more complex duties.

  15. Performingcomputadorized neuropsychological battery tests.

  16. Monitorslaboratory and/or other supplies to ensure sufficient inventory to supportresearch projects.

  17. Performsother duties as assigned.


  • General knowledge and some detailed concepts of research field assigned.

  • Managing SPSS program, excel tables preferred

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

  • One (1) year of related experience in a research or clinical lab environment.

  • May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

  • Full Time / Salaried / Non-Exempt Position

  • Location: Behavioral and Biomedical Services @ 1941 East Road

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
