Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging / Neuroradiology
The University of Texas McGovern Medical School at Houston, Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging, is seeking an applicant for a research position in the Neuroradiology section to support clinical research and work for a CPRIT grant. Candidate will provide research support for projects completed in the Advanced Imaging Research Institute (AIR) which include writing IRB’s, data analyzing, data de-identification, paper submissions, clinical research, writing research protocols and reviewing imaging studies of the brain under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and/or other senior faculty. Candidate will document study results and observations and developed abstracts and manuscripts from outcomes. Candidate will analyze data given and performs other duties as assigned by the PI.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Collects, evaluates, interprets, and documents research data to accomplish the objectives of a wide variety of scientific experiments and research projects.
Influences project direction and outcomes by identifying opportunities to enhance, terminate, or re-direct research activities.
May recruit study participants or field interviewers.
Evaluates and interprets data and provides results to investigators to support publication.
Maintains quality control checks and a safe environment in compliance with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulation and codes.
Assists in the preparation and writing of research reports, manuscripts, papers and grant proposals for presentation and publication.
Provides direction and training to lab personnel to ensure efficient, timely and high quality results in compliance with all protocols, guidelines, regulations, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. Experience using PACS and VNA systems, experience using imaging post processing software.
Experience in correlating tumor MR biomarkers with pathology and genomics
Experience in creating repository of brain tumor imaging and the pathology/genomics results.
Advanced imaging knowledge
Write abstract and manuscript on the findings
Knowledge and experience with clinical research imaging applications
Assists in analyzing neuroimaging research data using specific software.
Retrieving data from PACs
De-identifying data for research project and knowledge of database with
Considerable knowledge in basic and sophisticated equipment.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with three (3) years of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or
Master’s degree in a related field with one (1) year of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or
Years of experience varies based on education level.
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
