We are looking for a Full-Time Senior Program Manager to join the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX 77030. The individual in this position will support the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research. In this position, you will develop presentations, work with the director to review and formulate data, grant submissions, and oversee the center staff.

Position Summary:
Performs work that is varied and generally administrative and/or research-oriented with analysis. Provides support to the highest levels of executive leadership. This position requires the use of initiative, discretion, and independent judgment.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Oversees aspects of the program/project activities. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors project progress.
Stays abreast of new and updated protocols and policies and develops, implements, and manages internal policies andprocedures.
Manages the research agenda for the Center. Oversees overall operations of multiple research programs.
Sets deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor the progress of CHPPR special projects, and provide direct supervision to the director’s senior executive assistant.
Composes correspondence and memoranda, prepares presentation materials, speeches, and mass communications. Assist with grant and contract materials.
Provides approval of purchase requisitions based on established signature authority guidelines.
Manages compliance and ensures the department follows internal and external rules, regulations and standards.
Maintainsproject budgets,servicecontracts, reportsonprogressand/orauthorizes expenditures.
Preparesprogressreportsandgrantproposalstobothprivatefoundationsandgovernmentalagencies.May work closely with Office of Sponsored Projects on the submission ofgrants.
Monitors travel, purchasing, payroll, timekeeping, contracts and grants. Responsible for filing systems, accuracy, and compliance of files, records, and reports for assigned areas. Maintains knowledge base of legal and regulatory requirements of files.
Regularly handles confidential information and sensitive issues.
Reviews personnel action forms and ensure the necessary approvals are secured.
Interacts with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies regarding proposals and funded projects.
Working in conjunction with Public Affairs may create and edit various communications materials for the center,whichmayincludeprintedmaterials,websitecontent,and/ornewsletters.
Draft policy and processes as assigned by the supervisor. Responsible for making routine decisions and judgment calls and may assist or make recommendations regarding complex or impactful decisions.
Regularly handles the highest level of confidential information and sensitive issues.
Stays abreast of new and updated protocols for the Center.
Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
- May require program-specific certifications.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
Master's Degree in Public Health with a concentration in Health Behavior and Health Promotion is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Seven (7) years of applicable experience.
Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. Security Sensitive: This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215 Residency Requirement: Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
