Pediatric Surgery Quality Collaborative (PSQC) Senior Program Manager (Senior Program Manager - Research) is responsible for
the oversight, overall performance, and strategic direction of the PSQC program.
The manager partners with clinical champions at PSQC participating hospitals to
identify and implement best practices and to fast track quality improvement
efforts. The manager develops,
plans, maintains research and policy analysis. Oversees the general running of
Oversees overall operations of multiple qualityimprovement research programs.Leading the design andimplementation of collaborative-wide quality improvement studies evaluatingtreatments andimproving the care of patients.
Ascertain key contacts at various centers forroles and responsibilities (e.g. program managers, surgeon champions, SCRs, qualitydepartment leads, etc.)
Conduct planning calls and monthly conferencecalls as applicable; manage various email communications for progress andmeeting deadlines. Organizes regular calls/meetings of the executive committee
DevelopsGantt charts and timelines for multiple projects and key deliverables
Identifyprojects based on outcomes performance and review of reports (NSQIP)
Managesthe annual budget and is responsible for the overall fiscal management of theprogram.
Assists in grant proposals to both privatefoundations and governmental agencies. May work closely with the Office ofSponsored Projects on the submission of grants.
Ensures the support and success of all member hospitals throughthe management of collaborative communications, training and education, andmonitoring of program compliance and implementation of Quality ImprovementInitiatives.
Plansin person meetings including agendas, hotels, meeting space, A/V support,catering, etc. (1-2 per year).
Craftspresentations to be given with regards to the collaborative (including resultsof data analysis, QI initiatives, overall progress, etc.
Developsand refines all data usage agreements (DUAs) and non-disclosures agreements.Maintains current records of DUAs.
Createcompliant infrastructure for the collaborative, assures PHI protection as wellas equitable sharing of data, resources, and any analysis.
Managesdata from centers on multiple projects. Conduct basic analysis on large datasets; conducts literature review and research to identify best practices inexistence; constructs abstracts for scientific meetings, presentations, andpublication.
Communicateswith community and professionals to share objectives and outcomes.Prepares/makes oral presentations at professional meetings. May alsoparticipate in
Staysabreast of new and updated protocols for the program working closely with IRB.
Useknowledge to assist and train sites on specific Quality Control initiatives andmanage multiple locations
Createappropriate dynamic website content aligned to the collaborative mission, adding/removing information from website, and co ntributing to university guidelines and strategicgoals for web-related issues.
Manages HumansResources activities or gives direct input for direct reports in regards to:recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professionaldevelopment, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salaryplanning.
Otherduties as assigned.
Dependingon projects may require advanced level grant writing skills.
Dependingon projects may require Registered Nurse within the State of Texas.
Dependingon projects may require Clinical Research Coordinator certification.
Mayrequire program specific certifications. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or universityrequired in nursing, allied health, risk management or other health carerelated fields.Master’s degree from anaccredited college or university is preferred. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Sevenyears of applicable experience required:
Maysubstitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyondthe minimum education requirement. Years of experience varies based oneducation level.
Experiencein research, perinatal or surgical setting
Qualityand/or process improvement training/education (Six Sigma, LEAN, and RobustProcess Improvement) is preferred.
Ability toidentify, assess and resolve highly complex problems relating to thedelivery of medical services to members.
Knowledge of known quality initiativessuch as National Surgical Quality Improvement Program preferred.
Knowledge of project management principlespreferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication
Excellent organizational, planning andimplementation skills with attention to detail and customer service
Excellent statistical, analytical, problem-solvingand decision making
Good interpersonal/team relations
Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount
of constantly to move objects. This position may include work involving
potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
