We seek a highly motivated and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining secure and user-friendly web portals such as one for creating and maintaining a dynamic catalog of datasets with appropriate dashboards. Users of the portals will have their own profiles and will be able to manage content in the portal according to their assigned permissions, including curation, reading, and exploration. Although other full stack developers and data scientists are part of the team and teamwork is encouraged, the holder of this position is expected to have enough experience to lead projects. This role is not an entry-level position.

Position Summary:
Provides technical skills required to analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to design solutions to automate or facilitate various education, research, and business processes. Performs Full-Stack development and support for applications of moderate to difficult complexity and scope with regular supervision.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Develop and enhance novel web portals.
Collaborate with the team to design user-friendly and intuitive interfaces for biomedical researchers and medical professionals
Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms for web applications.
Integrate and optimize databases connected to the web portals (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and SQL.
Ensure the operation, performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Contribute to code review, testing, and deployment processes.
Connect local IT infrastructure with cloud infrastructure (experience is preferred).
Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in web development.
Show willingness to learn about biomedical data science, health, and neurological disorders.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Extensive experience with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and at least one modern JavaScript framework like React or Angular. 3+ years experience.
Proven work experience and strong skills in at least one of the following web frameworks: Ruby on Rails or Django.
Strong knowledge of one of the following programming languages: Ruby, Python, or Javascript.
Experience in server-side runtime environments like Node.js
Good knowledge of SQL and working experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j or other similar systems.
Experience in implementing web applications using the MVC framework with authentication modules that allow users with different levels of permissions to write, read, and explore data.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or related experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
- Three (3) year of relevant experience.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
