Position Summary:

Performs the manual and clerical duties in the physical movement of merchandise in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of widely diversified supplies in a shipping and receiving warehouse setting.

Location: Harris County Psychiatric Center

Dept.: HCPC Volunteer Services

Status: Part-Time (28 hours per week)

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Assists in the receiving, unpacking, storing, and delivering of supplies and equipment.

  2. Receives, processes, and checks merchandise and verifies the correctness of the shipment against the purchase order.

  3. Prepares the necessary forms and maintains records dealing with discrepancies and damaged merchandise.

  4. Prepares shipments for the return of merchandise to the vendors, delivers the merchandise shipments to the appropriate recipients, and picks up shipments from the departments that need to be returned.

  5. Places The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston tags or inventory tags on equipment that is received.

  6. Arranges merchandise to provide for accessibility, ready identification, and proper distribution.

  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

None

Minimum Education:

High school degree or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

Six months of direct related experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
