McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UT Health), a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time non-tenure clinical track faculty position in the Department of Pediatric Plastic Surgery.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The Division of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at the McGovern School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston is seeking a full time faculty position. Candidates would be appointed to the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor depending on experience and academic productivity in the Department of Pediatric Surgery. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible for the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Eligibility in Hand Surgery with CAQ are preferred.

Optimal candidates should have a clinical interested in developing a program in pediatric plastic surgery reconstruction. With privileges at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, a busy Level 1 trauma center, expertise in pediatric reconstruction, including microsurgery, would be ideal. Successful candidates would be expected to develop an academic practice with either clinical or basic science research. Educational responsibilities with the plastic surgery residency are strongly encouraged.

Qualifications:

The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Required or preferred board certification/eligibility statement. Required or preferred minimum years of clinical experience or years post residency statement.

Qualified applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence, discovery and service, have potential to be outstanding in their field of expertise, and share an interest in fulfilling the common goals of McGovern Medical School at UT Health. Preferred applicants must be board certified or board eligible for the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Eligibility in Hand Surgery with CAQ are preferred.
