The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center - McGovern Medical School, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is seeking applicants for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine to work as an academic gastroenterologist with a focus in GI Physiology and Motility at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston.
The University of Texas McGovern Medical School (UTMMS) and Division is located within the Texas Medical Center (TMC) and affiliated with the Memorial Hermann Hospital (MHH) Health System. The facultys outpatient practice is at our 22,000 sq. ft. Ertan Digestive Disease Center of Excellence with 14 clinic rooms, 5 state-of-the -art endoscopy rooms, and an advanced GI motility and physiology laboratory. The academic inpatient activities are performed at the connected MHH-TMC campus. Additionally, the Division has a strong clinical presence at the various MHHs and enjoys the academic practice with multiple UTMMS physicians located throughout the city. Clinical providers also play a crucial role in the development of gastroenterology and hepatology activities at the UTMMS affiliated Lyndon B. Johnson County Hospital. Offering a progressive and intellectually stimulating environment, the TMC is the largest medical center in the world, with 21 hospitals, eight academic research institutions within just a few miles.

Position Key Accountabilities :
This faculty member will serve as a general practice gastroenterologist with a specific focus in GI motility and physiology at Memorial Hermann-TMC. They will be responsible for the continuity of a high level of clinical quality and efficiency for our gastroenterology inpatient and outpatient service line as well as focus on the development of an academic career through education of current fellows and active participation in research.
Candidates must have an MD/DO, be board certified or eligible in gastroenterology and be eligible for full medical licensure in Texas. Training and experience in interpretation of GI physiology and motility studies is also required.
