Assists the Child Care Specialist I and II in maintaining a safe learning environment for the children by providing assistance in the support of the teaching efforts in a pre-school child day care and learning environment at the University of Texas Health Science Center Child Development Center.

Child Care Specialist
Position Key Accountabilities:
Assists in feeding the children, changes diapers, and provides a clean and safe environment.
Follows the feeding schedule in each child's folder and adds information to the daily log kept on each child.
Ensures a safe environment, must observe the children constantly, and removes any dangerous materials and objects from their reach.
Refers any unusual events or problems with the children to the Child Care Specialist II.
Greets the parents and children at arrival and departure times.
Makes daily reports to parents on the child's daily activities.
Completes individual children's daily activity log.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school graduate or equivalent.
None. Six months experience working with pre-school age children preferred.
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
