Provides basic elementary teaching and learning expertise to children in a pre-school child day care environment.

Position Key Accountabilities:
Plans and implements approved child educational programs and supervises the care of each child in the classroom.
Instructs children and is responsible for the well-being and healthful climate and learning environment of assigned group of children.
Maintains various records and reports pertaining to the health and the progress of learning and emotional development of each child in assigned group.
Participates in meetings and makes recommendations regarding the purchase and utilization of equipment such as toys, games, etc.
Responsible for the orderly arrangement, appearance, and learning environment of the classroom.
Participates in and consults parents in teacher/parent conferences to inform parents of their children's growth, progress and deficiencies.
Serves the children of the faculty, staff, and students of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Provides quality pre-school education in a stimulating environment.
Assists in planning and supervising special activities, programs and outings.
Provides work direction to personnel within department. May lead project and activities.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Certified Child Development Associate (CDA) or Bachelor’s degree.
One year of experience with pre-school aged children.
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
