Provides pharmacy dispensing of products to patients after receiving appropriate clearance to ship products, dispense research drugs and meet all requirements under the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and UTHSCH regulations including keeping accurate records of inventory.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Provides pharmacy dispensing services to the patients and other contracted entities utilizing the GSP inventory software program.
Receives the financial clearance to dispense orders
Dispenses research drugs according to good clinical practices through various approved research protocols.
Completes and fills all prescriptions during normal working hours. Any prescriptions received outside of these hours will be treated as emergencies and handled on a case by case basis.
Ensures that the pharmacy is stocked and with necessary inventory and supplies, consulting with Administrative Director as needed.
Performs regular inventory reconciliation on inventory.
Administers and updates existing pharmacy procedures after consulting with the Administrative and Medical Directors.
Meets all requirements to conform to the State Board of Pharmacy Regulations and the UTHSCH including maintaining current records, work logs and licenses.
Other duties as assigned.
Full-Time / Salaried / Exempt Position
Pay Range: $96,000 - 120,000/year based on years of paid experience
With Residency/Fellowship Training:
PGY-1 Residency Trained (with an additional 2 years experience in Geriatrics or ambulatory care pharmacy practice), and/or PGY-2 Residency Trained,and/or Fellowship-Trained
Specialty Focuses Preferred: Geriatrics, Ambulatory Care,Primary Care, or Internal Medicine
Board Certification and/or other certificate/training aplus
Without Residency/Fellowship Training:
5 plus years in Geriatrics or ambulatory care pharmacypractice
Specialty Focuses Preferred: Geriatrics, Ambulatory Care, Primary Care, or Internal Medicine
Board Certification and/or other certificate/training a plus
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
