HCM / Peoplesoft Specialist for Administration - Houston, TX

We are looking for an HCM Specialist who will work inside the Human Capital Management System in Peoplesoft. You will review, approve, enter/upload basic to moderately complex personnel actions in HCM. Assist System Data Resources team with all aspects of SDR tasks. You will need to be fluent in Excel, and understand human resources processes in order to translate these into actions within our systems. You will do reporting as well as work on transactions.
This is a full time role that will work in the University Center Tower located in heart of Houston's Texas Medical Center. The building is easily accessible by both bus and rail lines from Metro. You will be eligible for full benefits. Typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8am until 5pm. This is a non-exempt role.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Reviews personnel actions and fund source actions ensuring compliance with UTH and UT System policies. Reviews expenditures to ensure conformance to budgetary provisions such as the need for a Request for Budget Check (RBC). Approves, rejects, and follows up for entry by scheduled payroll processing dates.
Reviews, approves, and uploads basic to moderately complex personnel actions, new hire information and vacant positions.
Processes semi-monthly personnel maintenance file transfers to Comptroller’s Office and associated timely entry of corrections/additions from the exception reports.
Generates appointment letters, logs in database, sends for signature, and logs as receives back and files accordingly.
Entry of monthly longevity new setups and changes.
Assists SDR team with personnel actions, special projects, audit requests, etc
Performs special projects as required for clean-up in PeopleSoft HCM.
Runs monthly queries and creates quality checks for data entered into system.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
Requires good judgment, analytical and problem solving skills
Associate’s degree, preferably in business administration or related field, or relevant experience in lieu of education.
Two (2) years of experience, preferably in Accounting, Payroll, Budget, or Human Resources and including experience with Peoplesoft HCM.
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
