Mental Health Professionals Loan Repayment Program Opportunity Available For Eligible Inpatient Faculty
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) is seeking a part-time psychologist to join our excellent inpatient faculty team at the UTHealth Harris County Psychiatric Center (UTHealth HCPC). Affiliated with Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, UTHealth HCPC is the second largest freestanding psychiatric facility in the U.S. The hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, which awarded UTHealth HCPC a “Top Performer in Key Quality Measures.”
Position Key Accountabilities:
Inpatient psychology faculty provide evidence-based individual and group psychotherapy services and psychological assessments as part of the HCPC Psychology Services team. The position also provides opportunities for exceptional teaching and clinical supervision for psychology predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, practicum students, and psychiatry residents. Selected candidates are expected to contribute to the Department’s mission of education, research and patient care, and to participate in the teaching and clinical supervision of psychology predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, practicum students, and psychiatry residents. Qualified applicants must possess a PsyD or PhD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited program and be licensed, or license eligible, by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Depending on qualifications and credentials, faculty appointment at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor will be offered.
