This Medical Assistant

position performs a variety of duties and responsibilities in a manner that places

emphasis on quality of care and customer service. Patient services are the key priority in this

position requiring the MA to serve as a point of contact with other internal

and external departments, all with the goal of fostering a "We Make It

Worth It" environment which promotes patient comfort and trust. This is a full time role that works normal

business hours during the week and is eligible for full benefits including low

cost healthcare and excellent retirement plan run by the State of Texas.

This position is mainly

located in the Southeast area and will require traveling.

Position KeyAccountabilities:

  1. Performs responsibilities in a manner that

promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.

  1. Effectively participates in planning and preparing for patient visits

ensuring appropriate schedules, test results, and clinic specific requirements

are available.

  1. Rooms patients consistent with clinic needs while determining and

documenting chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies,

smoking history and other information as required by clinic. Keeps patients

informed of delays and progress of clinical appointments.

  1. Assists provider

with examinations and procedures ( Uro Dynamics, Cystoscopy, voiding trials,

and colposcopy )

  1. As required and competency validated, performs appropriate hearing and

vision testing, EKG, spirometry, point of care testing, specimen collection,

equipment cleaning/reprocessing and other requested procedures.

  1. Prepares and stocks rooms (daily/weekly) and clinic supplies in

advance of clinic visit as well as cleaning rooms appropriately between


  1. Schedules patients for follow up appointments or referrals and

performs routine clerical duties for team and staff to include photocopying,

scanning, and faxing.

  1. Performs telephone messaging and in person screening with appropriate

follow up.

  1. Respects and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA


  1. Performs other duties as assigned.


Use and care of standard clinic equipment

Basic Life Support (BLS) certified

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred

Minimum Experience:

Six months experience or completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training


Additional Information:

  • Full-Time / Hourly / Non Exempt position

  • Pay Range: $13.65/hour - $18.0)/hour based on years of paid experience

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
