Position Summary:

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth,

Dept. of Diagnostic & Interventional Imaging, Section of Neuroradiology is

seeking a candidate to provide research support for projects completed in the

Advanced Imaging Research Institute (AIR) which includes writing IRBs, data

analyzing, data de-identification, paper submissions, clinical research,

writing research protocols and reviewing imaging studies of the brain under the

supervision of the PI and/or other senior faculty.

Candidate will document study

results and observations and develop abstracts and manuscript outcomes.

Candidate will analyze data given and perform other duties as assigned by PI.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Co-registers MRI imaging studies of the brain andprovides measurement of venous structures within the brain and providesdata to attending neuroradiologist.

  2. Documents results of research protocols and providesinformation under the supervision of the PI or other requestingattendings.

  3. Creates volumetric 3D images of brain lesions, writesabstract and manuscripts based on the findings and informs attendingneuroradiologist.

  4. Measures anatomical brain compartments

  5. Assists in analyzing neuroimaging research data usingspecific software loaded within the radiology workstations. Assistsattendings with the writing of IRB for clinical research.

  6. Retrieves data from PACS and de-identifies informationfor research projects.


Considerable knowledge in basic and sophisticated equipment.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with three (3) years of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or

Master’s degree in a related field with one (1) year of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or

Doctorate degree.

Minimum Experience:

Years of experience varies based on education level.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
