The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston is seeking applicants for full-time staff physician positions for the Divisions of Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine at the McGovern Medical School.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The Divisions of Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine manage a multidisciplinary intensivist program at a 900-bed level 1 trauma center, along with a 280-bed county level 3 trauma center. Inpatient services involve management of over 120 critical care beds in medical critical care, cardiac critical care and transplant critical care, which provide an excellent opportunity for teaching, clinical research and caring for diverse patient populations.

In addition, we have an opportunity to provide inpatient critical care services to a community 547 bed hospital. This site will provide coverage for a 32 bed medical/surgical critical care unit with an 8 bed cardiovascular intensive care unit. We are currently recruiting intensivists to provide services at this site.

There are 9 ambulatory practice locations in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine throughout the Houston area. The Division includes 28 Faculty members and supports 19 fellows in the Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship program and 3 fellows in the Sleep Medicine fellowship program.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Critical Care and/or Pulmonary Medicine and be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas.
