McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure clinical track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery in our Cypress location. The candidate will join a talented team of physicians that strive for excellence in education, research and clinical practice.
Position Key Accountabilities:
The candidate with rank of Assistant Professor in Orthopedic Surgery will be responsible for clinical service, research activities, administrative and other activities; provide direct patient care and supervision of medical students and residents in clinic and hospital settings.
surgical locations at Memorial Hermann; including participation
in UT Orthopedic Surgery physician group call schedule.
Collaborating with other physicians who will be in practice.
Being involved in the recruitment, selection and hiring of new or additional
physicians to the group
logistics and new physician recruitment.
Participating in the education and training of medical students and residents
Supporting the research mission of the department and university through:
a) Facilitating reasonable and appropriate access to patients by research staff.
b) Assisting when requested with collection of research data including
biological specimens and
c) Providing information and education on on-going research studies to
potentially eligible research subjects.
The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Required or preferred board certification/eligibility statement. Required or preferred minimum years of clinical experience or years post residency statement.
